AC Transit will implement a planned fare adjustment on July 1, completing the two-phase process approved in March 2025. Fares are an important part of transit operations, even though they only cover a portion of total costs. According to AC Transit, when riders don’t pay their fares, the losses can lead to service cuts that hurt everyone who depends on the bus.
