Pet of the Week for March 29, 2025
Sweet Maya [1] just got back to the shelter after a wonderful foster experience. During her time with her foster family, she made good friends with her canine foster sister, and was getting to be on buddy terms with her cat sibling as well.
[2]Her fosters report that she liked to be around them all the time, and that she could be cuddly. That trait will likely grow when she finds a forever home.
This good girl, who is just over a year-and-a-half and weighs in at about 49 pounds, would love a quiet home with a family where older children/teenagers can take turns playing with and walking her, and someone is home most of the day so she doesn’t get lonely. She’d do best with someone who is willing to put in the time and energy with training.
[3]If you’d like to meet Maya, she’s currently at the FAAS main shelter at 1590 Fortmann Way. Visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. This sweet girl is likely to go into foster again when her foster family comes back or with another foster, so it’s a good idea to call FAAS at 510-337-8565 before visiting to find out where she is.
