Pets of the Week for June 22, 2024
It’s kitten season, and FAAS [1] is filled with fabulous baby felines! Some of these soft, sweet, adorable creatures are ready for forever homes, and many others are in need of foster homes.
[2]FAAS has 10 adoptable [3] spayed/neutered kittens [4], some at the main shelter at 1590 Fortmann Way, and others at the South Shore Adoption Center. If you haven’t been to the South Shore location, now is the time to visit. Meet the delightful kittens, cats, and rabbits who enjoy comfy habitats in the colorful, fun setting.
Featured in photos at the top of this column are three lovely little ladies, all sisters, about two months old. Theodora is absolutely glam, and her sisters—Eleanor Roosevelt and Marian Anderson—may appear a little shyer, but that’s probably just because they’re not yet used to life in the spotlight for their “closeups.”
[5]The black-and-white beauties shown here are Max and Ruby. Ruby is soooo cute in her little white boots! They’re also just two months old, and they’re ready for adoption.
See more available kittens on FAAS’s cat adoption web page [6], although there may be new kittens who have not yet had their photos taken. If you see a favorite, call 510-337-8565 to find out in which location they may be housed—or if the kitten is in foster care by the time you reach out. Either way, we can arrange a meetup.
Speaking of foster care, we need fosters for our bottle baby kitties! With kitten season in full swing, we never know when new babies will come in. FAAS will supply everything you’ll need for these sweet little ones, and there’s nothing quite as rewarding as nurturing a baby kitten.
If you can help any of these adorable little babies, please fill out a foster questionnaire online [8] or email Monica at [email protected] [9]. Monica will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this extremely important role in a cat’s life, and FAAS will make it as doable as possible for you, even with bottle babies.
It takes a village to get through kitten season. Thank you for being there, Alameda!
