Jammie Drive Seeks Donations for Cozy Clothes and Beyond

Everybody loves a pair of cozy, warm pajamas as the weather cools down. This year, Alameda’s 11th annual Jammie Drive—sponsored by the City and Building Futures [1]—hopes to make the holidays cozier for the most vulnerable in our community, including every one of the families at the Alameda Midway Shelter for women and children and in our domestic violence safe house.

This year, the Jammie Drive and Building Futures hope to raise $10,000 to help support 200 families as they transition out of local shelters and into stable housing. The money will be used to provide move-in kits filled with basic supplies for families who are finally able to move into a home of their own.

How to participate

There are two ways to give this year:

You can drop off jammies at the Winter Lights event at City Hall on December 2 at 5:30 p.m., or any Monday through Thursday, 9.am. to 5 p.m., at City Hall (3rd floor City Manager’s Office), 2263 Santa Clara Ave., before December 7.
