Billion-dollar animal researchers seek revenge here!

Backed by a big money contribution of $145,000, a vicious mailer targeting the reelection campaign of Council Member Trish Spencer has appeared in all of our mailboxes. Why her? Because, last year she, with the support of over 300 Citizen opposition emails stopped Science Corp, owned by Max Hodak, former partner of Elon Musk, from leasing City property in Alameda to conduct highly experimental research on primates and other animals.

Now the billion-dollar animal experimentation industry called collectively California Life Sciences plus the California Apartment Association, which consistently opposes rent control in any form, are seeking revenge on Trish Spencer’s audacity to question their industries.

The mailer verbiage includes new and old lies all packed together. Trish Spencer does not have the time and money to counter these attacks. It’s up to us to independently assess what Trish has done for our City and has attempted to do and promises to do in the future. She is the most independent and politically moderate member of our Council. Her goal has always been to serve Alameda, to protect Alameda and to see our City flourish productively.

Let’s not allow outside entities to decide our Council using their big money to sow distrust and dislike for a well-known public servant who sincerely loves this City and its residents. Let’s disregard and tear up those hate mailers. Let us also be on the lookout for more hit propaganda from these 2 industries, as they still have a large war chest to spend on further attacks.
