To the Editor:
I was pleased to see that City Council approved Pacific Fusion’s purchase of 13 acres at Alameda Point [2]. Not knowing what was on the Council’s mind(s), I suspect that this was done for economic reasons. But what pleased me was the departure from Council’s previous knee-jerk, anti-science attitude toward much smaller projects (e.g, atmospheric testing from the Hornet [3] and possible animal testing in a lab [4]). Just don’t get swept up in James Ingallinera’s looney Musk-Trump-ish concept of a “deregulated” tech city at Alameda Point [5].
Bob Barde,
Alameda.
