FAAS Responds to Cat Hoarding Crisis

CEO John Lipp asks for your immediate help with donations and adoptions

It’s every shelter director’s worst fear; a hoarding situation with dozens of animals living in horrendous conditions. A few days ago, right here on our beautiful island, we started dealing with just such a scenario, involving dozens of cats suffering from neglect.

Working with Alameda Animal Control Officer Onesko, and with mutual assistance from Oakland and Hayward, FAAS [2] was onsite during the ongoing rescue operation, and we have taken in 41 cats at our main shelter. More will be coming.

The cats are now receiving medical care, and we’re hopeful that with love and patience, they’ll make a full recovery and be ready for adoption within a few weeks.

But with our shelter already full and resources stretched thin, we urgently need your help. Would you please consider any of the following ways to help us get through this crisis?

Together, we can give these cats everything they need for a fresh start. Thank you for anything you can do.

With Gratitude and Hope,
John L. Lipp
