Bus Detours in Alameda for the 4th of July Parade

Anyone who has tried to drive anywhere on our island on July 4 knows that detours are prevalent to accommodate our famous 4th of July Parade. And don’t forget that all vehicles must be cleared from the parade route [1] by 4 a.m.—otherwise they will be towed away—and the streets along that route will be closed to all traffic starting at 7 a.m., unless, of course, you are in the parade.

Even the buses must switch it up. For those who ride AC Transit, please check out the following lists of stops that are closed and alternative stops for lines 20, 21, 51A, 96, or O bus from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
