[1]Lake Como, in Italy, is Europe’s deepest lake, measuring 1,394 feet deep. Because of its extreme depth and volume, Lake Como never freezes. Its temperature consistently ranges from 3 degrees C in January to 29 degrees C in summer.
The lake temperature obeys a sine wave which completes one cycle each year. The water reaches its coldest temperature on January 22.
