Reach out and touch a real space capsule or fighter jet, see how ships navigate, experience a lunar explorer, or build a moonbase at the USS Hornet’s Techs on Decks 2025 [1], on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On the anniversary of the Apollo 12 Moon mission—when the USS Hornet served as the recovery ship—enjoy a full-day event for students ages 8 to 18 to explore the promise of technology. Activities will include space exploration leaders, robotics events, AI, and industry interaction.

Admission is free for students and teachers with school ID—and there will be free Domino’s pizza on the decks of the legendary aircraft carrier, while supplies last.

Exhibitors include NASA, STEAM against Violence, Merritt Cybersecurity, California Historical Radio Society, Alameda Aeronuts, Drones of SF, Berkeley UAV club, and many more.

Special one-hour Docent-led tours of the USS Hornet will be running all day long. You’ll see and learn about many crucial areas and functions of the ship, including:
