Pet of the Week for August 16, 2025
Shellsea [1] is a dazzling 3-year-old whose striking brown Merle coat is a mosaic of beautiful spots. She’s like a beautiful sea shell, with a cute twist to her name.
[2]She carries herself with the energy of an excitable queen, full of personality and ready to embrace the world. This is a girl who knows what she wants. She’s a true lovebug, thriving on a good walk, and if tug-of-war were an Olympic event, she would undoubtedly be a medalist.
Shellsea would blossom with a family ready to provide consistent, patient guidance to help her channel all her wonderful energy. She’s also quite good at redirecting her attention when other dogs are around, staying focused and relatively non-reactive. She’s a lot of fun on walks, which you can see on the video below.
If you’d like to meet gorgeous Shellsea, visit Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter [3] at 1590 Fortmann Way, Alameda, during their open hours—Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that nap time for the animals is 1 to 2 p.m. and the last meet time is one hour before closing.
