Alameda is gearing up for Alameda Porchfest 2026, a free, family-friendly neighborhood music festival on Sunday, September 13. From noon to 6 p.m., residents will turn their front porches, lawns, and stoops into vibrant live performance venues. The Webster Park outdoor stage at 1435 Webster Street will also become a “porch,” replete with rocking chairs and house plants.
[1]The grassroots event is spearheaded by the newly-formed Alameda Music Council [2]—Joseph Osbourne, Edwina Phillips, Annette Lysmer, and Spyce Hogan—in collaboration with the West Alameda Business Association [3].
Porchfest started in Ithaca, New York, as a simple idea to connect neighbors through live performance, and has since grown into a nationwide movement celebrated in dozens of cities and towns, according to organizers. It features local artists performing diverse musical genres, ranging from acoustic folk and bluegrass to rock, jazz, and soul.
Designed to build community connection, Porchfest operates entirely on volunteer power and donated talent. Performances are free and open to the public, with no tickets required.
