Alameda Elks Lodge to Host Cozy Brunch Benefit for The Purple Pig

The Rainbow Connection [1], a cozy childlike benefit brunch hosted by Alameda Elks 2025-2026 First Lady Terianne Potter, is set for Saturday, January 17, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue. Proceeds will support the “The Purple Pig” program, the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, Inc. (CHEMPI), which serves disabled children across California and Hawaii.

This unique program pays professional therapists and preschool vision screeners to help disabled children, often beyond what other programs are able to provide. These therapists and preschool vision screeners travel—sometimes great distances—to help children get the care they need. Many times, the vision screenings catch early signs of amblyopia (“Lazy Eye”), a medical problem that, when found, can be corrected early and save a child from going blind.

The Alameda Elks Lodge looks to the local community to help donate funds to this program. The theme for this year’s brunch, “The Rainbow Connection,” sets the atmosphere for a childlike morning brunch filled with coziness and comfort. Optional dress could be pajamas, cozy outfits, or whatever you feel comfortable wearing.

The event includes brunch, coffee, tea, and juice, plus a no-host bar with wine, beer, cocktails, and alcohol-free options. The Elks Lodge is also happy to announce a performance by the Oakland Gay Men’s Chorus as well as live and silent auctions, prize drawings, and more.

Tickets for the event are available online [3] for $55 per person, $400 for a full table of eight people. Sponsorship opportunities are available; to learn more email Terianne Potter at [email protected] [4].

CHEMPI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting disabled children and their families across California and Hawaii through direct services, advocacy, and community programs. For more information, visit the California-Hawaii Elks [5] website.
