Radical Poets Society

Every month, participants convene to discuss a new book of poetry deemed radical in some respect. Selected books emphasize marginalized and historically underrepresented voices in the wider history of poetry in mainstream American society. As such, Black poets, Indigenous poets, and other poets of color—many of whom are also trans and/or queer poets—make up the bulk of the Radical Poets Society’s selections. Radical poetry can also be radical in what it does with its language and form, wherein it deviates from the norm in exciting, fresh ways.

Free copies of this month’s book are available at the reference desk beginning February 1st.

February’s book is Things You May Find Hidden In My Ear: Poems from Gaza by Mosab Abu Toha.
